How to Wax a Snowboard
From your Snowboarding Guide
Snowboards require a fresh coat of wax about every five days on the mountain. Waxing it yourself will save you time and money.
Difficulty Level:
Average
Time Required:
30 minutes
Here's How:
- Lay your board flat on a table so the base (the bottom) is facing upwards.
- Clean the base with a damp cloth.
- Take a warm iron (not hot) and rub snowboard wax on warm part of the iron so the wax drips onto the base.
- Drip enough wax to liberally cover the base of the board.
- Let the wax dry.
- Take a solid piece of plastic and scrape the excess wax off the base. Scrape from the nose of the board to the back.
- Go riding.
Tips:
- If you have gouges taken out of the base take your board to a shop to have the p-tex repaired professionally
- Use an old iron.
