1080 - Definition of a 1080

Definition: A 1080 is a freestyle snowboarding trick where the rider spins 1,080 degrees, or three full rotations. The spin may be done in either direction (backside or frontside.
Pronunciation: [ten]-[ey-tee]
Also Known As: Ten, 10
Examples:
Shaun White won the gold medal in the men's halfpipe at the 2006 Winter Olympics by doing back-to-back 1080's.
