Definition: Step-in bindings are a special type of snowboard binding that does away with the need to fasten straps, as with traditional snowboard bindings. Most step-ins utilize a cleat system similar to clipless pedals on a bicycle. They have gained in popularity in recent years, especially with older snowboarders, who may not like having to bend over to strap and unstrap so often.
