Definition: An aerial tram is a large cabin suspended from one or two cables that are suspended above the ground by towers that is often used to transport skiers and snowboarders up a mountain. An aerial tram differs from a gondola in that a gondola is attached to a continuously circulating cable, while a tram moves back and forth on a cable.
