Definition: Backside refers to any spin or trick done with the riders back to the outside of the rotation's arc. An easy way to figure out whether a spin is a backside or frontside spin is to determine which part of the rider faced downhill first. If the rider jumped up and turned his back downhill first, it's a backside spin.
The opposite of backside is frontside.
