Mammoth Mountain Ski Area Description:
Located in California's Sierra Nevada mountain range, Mammoth Mountain Ski Area ("Mammoth") features 150 named trails spread across 3,500 acres of terrain. 29 lifts, including three gondola's and 11 high-speed detachable chairlifts provide access to the terrain. Mammoth typically has one of the longest ski and snowboard seasons in the U.S., often opening in October and closing sometime in June.
Mammoth rates 25% of its terrain as suitable for beginners, 40% for intermediates, and 35% for advanced and expert skiers and riders.
