The Olympics have come and gone, and they were crazy.
The snowboarding events were more dramatic than any in recent history. There was controversy about the snowboarding courses, some huge upsets, new events, amazing competition, and one of the most exciting moments in Olympic snowboarding when Iouri "I-Pod" Podladtchikov stole the men's half pipe gold from Shaun White (who had won the event in the previous two Olympics) largely because of his excellent execution of his signature trick: the yolo flip.
The yolo flip -- and Shaun White's inability to match Podladtchikov's execution in the finals -- made big news. The yolo flip is a relatively new trick. It's technically known as a cab double cork 1440, which involves two flips and three full-spins in one aerial manouver. (You can find a full glossary of snowboarding terms for Sochi here.)
