I love summer. I really do. I really like stand-up paddle boarding, hiking, biking, and all the other great sports you can do to train in the off-season. Personally, this year I'd really like to tune my training to try out some snowboard cross next year.
It's also a great time to think about all of the resorts that you want to visit when the snow begins to fly. I toured around to a lot of different snowboard areas last winter and learned a lot about what's available in the USA (I'm originally from BC). So, I developed some pretty strong ideas about where I'd like to go this year.
First, I miss some of the areas where I first snowboarded when I was young. When I was a boy my father often took us to Montana on trips. Two of our favourite resorts were Big Sky and Whitefish. While I'm at it, I'd also like to stop by Bridger Bowl, a smaller local resort that I've heard good things about.
While visiting resorts in Colorado and Utah last winter, which I loved, one snowboard area was consistently named in comparison: Taos. I must visit this hill, not only for the wicked extreme terrain, but for the funky vibe that it's famous for.
