Lorpen Socks Surround Feet in Comfort

From , Former About.com GuideJanuary 5, 2011

Lorpen Tri-Layer LTI was blessed to spend the Christmas vacation week skiing and snowboarding in Vermont, where we received nearly two feet of fresh snow from the Christmas blizzard. While on vacation, my wife and I took some time to test out some new socks by Lorpen, a European manufacturer of technical socks. Fortunately for our dogs (meaning feet, not Fido!), the socks lived up to the rigors of the week!

We both set out early in the week wearing pairs of Lorpen's Tri-Layer LT socks, which feature a combination of PrimaLoft Eco polyester and merino wool. These two materials together give the socks enough warmth to keep feet comfortable for hours, while also wicking away moisture and resisting odor. That last feature is much appreciated by all who come across my feet!

I tested the Tri-Layer socks in both ski boots and snowboard boots, and can happily report they performed as advertised in both types of boots. I spent most of last year riding a pair of Lorpen socks that were slightly thicker than the Tri-Layer LT, and was very impressed with their durability. They held up to over 50 days on snow, along with the repeated washings that go along with all those days!

Lorpen produces a myriad of socks for skiing, snowboarding, hiking, and general outdoor use. Learn more and locate a retailer near you by visiting them online at http://www.lorpen.com/lorpen-na/index.php.
