Okemo Mountain Resort in central Vermont is open for the season, giving New England skiers and snowboarders another option for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. After a "soft" opening on Tuesday, November 23rd, the resort began offering top to bottom skiing and snowboarding on Thanksgiving day.
I went out for day one of my season yesterday (Black Friday crowds are much more manageable on the ski slopes!), and can report excellent coverage from edge to edge on the one open trail I rode yesterday. According to the resort's morning snow report, they have increased their open terrain today, with a total of four major trails open. Yes, I know the resort is claiming 12 trails open, but I'm not counting "feeder" trails!
Lift tickets are currently $49 for adults, $43 for young adults, and $33 for kids, with half day rates available beginning at Noon. For more information, check out the Okemo Snow Report or call the snowphone at 802-228-5222!
