Stowe to Host "Last Trick" Rail Jam

Northern Vermont's Stowe Mountain Resort is hosting an event dubbed the "Last Trick" Rail Jam this Saturday, May 23^rd. That's right - a rail jam...on snow......in New England...on Memorial Day weekend. Oh, and if that's not extraordinary enough, check this - the event is FREE to all skiers and snowboarders!

According to the resort, the giant pile of snow that was formerly the halfpipe has been pushed onto the Lower Standard trail to provide the slide for the event. Vying for a bevy of prizes and giveaways, participants will get to throw down from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with music provided by Burlington, VT based Lotus Entertainment.

I don't normally quote directly from Press Releases - it's poor journalism - but this being a blog entry, I'm going to make an exception just this once. Under the where, when, why portion of Stowe's release, Director of Communications Jeff Wise profoundly stated, "Why: You have two dozen Saturdays coming up and playing on snow won’t be an option." Touché, my friend...touché!
