Day three of my western tour has begun, with plans to ride Vail
today. Yesterday we spent the day ripping around the Stone Creek chutes at Beaver Creek
, and the snow was fantastic! Springtime has definitely come to the Rocky Mountains, with wall-to-wall sunshine and soft, gorgeous snow as far as the eye can see. Speaking of Beaver Creek, I'd be remiss if I failed to mention COOKIE-TIME! That's right - Beaver Creek gives out free cookies everyday at 3 p.m., served on silver trays by employees wearing white gloves. Aside from being free, the cookies are amazing!
Dinner last night was at the ultra-posh Atwater on Gore Creek restaurant at the Vail Cascades Resort & Spa. The lamb was exquisite, the wine was excellent, and the atmosphere was top-notch. All in all, the Vail region has a ton to offer everyone, from park-rat rippers to groomed-snow guys and gals.
It's time to go head out to explore Vail's legendary Back Bowls. Check back here for more about the trip tomorrow!
