East Coast Resorts Open...and Close

Tuesday November 4, 2008
This past Sunday, perennial East coast early-bird Killington fired up the lifts and welcomed skiers and riders for the first time since April. For the past two weeks, Mount Snow has been offering a free early-season terrain park to anyone willing to hike for their turns. Okemo fired up their snowmaking system for the first time this season over the weekend, too, with Opening Day slated for Saturday, November 15th. Expect more resorts to open in the coming weeks as temperatures (hopefully) continue their downward spiral!

Of course, this being New England, not all the news is good. With a warm, wet forecast for the coming weekend, Killington has announced plans to shut down at the end of the day on Thursday. According to the resort, lift-served skiing and riding will resume as soon as conditions permit. Stay tuned for all the latest news...

How you think when the economic crisis will end? I wish to make statistics of independent opinions!
