Early Season Snowboarding Tips

Thursday October 16, 2008
Now that the 2008/2009 snowboard season is underway, it's time for everyone to review some tried and true early season snowboarding tips. Caught up in the excitement of opening day (be it your favorite resort's opening day or your own first day of the season), it's easy to forget equipment, dress improperly, or injure yourself. Remember, it's a long season!

Over the years, I think I've made every mistake possible on opening day, from forgetting my goggles (there goes a quick $100 in the resort shop) to trying brand new tricks on my first run (I blame Okemo's Professor Emeritus of Shred, Gordon Robbins for that one...but he's taught me more than anyone I know, so he gets a pass on this issue). Check out my article "Tips for Early Season Snowboarding to learn what to do and most definitely what not to do on your first day out this season!
